Deck Refinishing Austin

Old deck, new life: full board swaps, reworked stairs, and a finish that’s built to last. See how I brought it all together.

Deck Refinishing Austin

My customer had an old weathered deck that they wanted to get some more years out of, so I handled the Deck refinishing for them. I replaced some of the boards that were too far gone, including all the wood for their steps leading up to the deck. I changed the stairs so they don’t have front faces anymore, which lets air flow better under the deck and helps it last longer. I re-mounted several of the stringers to the joists and the hangers, since the original setup missed the wood on the stringer. The new stair treads aren’t sealed right now since fresh pressure-treated wood needs to age before it’ll take stain. To finish up, I sanded the whole deck to clean up the surface, even things out, and make it more comfortable and easier to use.
